What is included in Full Interests Admitted (FIA)?

Full Interests Admitted (FIA) is a clause used in marine insurance policies to indicate that the insurance covers the entire financial interest of the insured party in the shipment. In marine insurance, “interest” refers to the insured party’s financial stake or financial exposure in the cargo being transported. By selecting FIA coverage, the policyholder ensures that the insurance protection extends to the full declared value of the cargo and any related financial interests. This means that in the event of loss or damage to the insured cargo during transit, the insurance payout would cover the declared value and any associated financial losses incurred by the insured party.

FIA coverage provides comprehensive protection and peace of mind to the cargo owner or policyholder in case of unforeseen risks during the shipment.
