What is Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT)?

The Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) is a voluntary public-private partnership program between U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and businesses involved in international trade. The program is designed to enhance the security of the international supply chain and prevent the entry of terrorist and other criminal activities into the United States.

CTPAT encourages companies involved in international trade to establish and maintain security procedures and best practices throughout their supply chains. This includes implementing measures to ensure the integrity of their cargo, verifying the security of their business partners, and conducting risk assessments to identify and address potential security vulnerabilities.
