What is a Commerce Control List?

The Commerce Control List (CCL) is a part of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) issued by the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) in the United States. The CCL is a comprehensive list of items, equipment, technologies, and software subject to export controls due to their potential impact on national security, foreign policy, or economic reasons. The CCL is used to determine whether an export license is required for the export of specific items from the United States to foreign destinations. Companies engaged in international trade must refer to the CCL to ensure compliance with export control regulations and obtain the necessary licenses when exporting controlled items.
