Add-On Symbol

Tags: Glossary

A code used to indicate additional information about a shipment.

What is an Add-On Symbol?

An add-on symbol is a code or symbol that is added to a container or package to indicate specific handling instructions or requirements. These symbols are used by shipping companies and freight carriers to communicate important information about the contents of the shipment, such as its weight, fragility, or hazardous nature.

Common examples of add-on symbols include “Fragile,” “This End Up,” “Handle with Care,” and “Do Not Stack.” These symbols help to ensure that the shipment is handled appropriately and that the contents are not damaged or compromised during transit.
