Coastal Shipping

Coastal shipping refers to the transportation of goods and passengers by sea along the coast or within a country’s territorial waters. It typically involves the use of smaller vessels, such as barges, ferries, or coasters, which are designed to operate in shallow waters and to navigate through narrow channels and harbors. 

Coastal shipping is an important mode of transportation for each country, as it provides an efficient and cost-effective way to transport goods and people between coastal cities. It is particularly useful for transporting goods that are not time-sensitive, such as bulk commodities like coal, grain, or oil, as well as construction materials, such as cement, sand, and steel. 

Coastal shipping also offers several environmental advantages over other modes of transportation, such as road or air transport. It produces fewer greenhouse gas emissions and air pollutants, and it can reduce road congestion and wear and tear on infrastructure.
