Cityliner

In shipping, City liner is a term that refers to a type of container ship that is designed for short sea shipping, typically along coastal routes or between nearby ports. City liner ships are smaller and more versatile than traditional deep-sea container ships and are designed to operate in shallow waters and smaller ports. 

City liner ships usually have a capacity of between 1,000 and 3,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), and are equipped with specialized loading and unloading equipment, such as cranes or gantries, to facilitate rapid and efficient cargo handling. They are also designed to be able to dock at a wider variety of port facilities, including smaller and less developed ports, which makes them ideal for serving regional markets and connecting smaller ports to global shipping networks.   

City liner ships are often used to transport a variety of goods, including consumer goods, perishables, and bulk cargo. They are also used to transport goods that require rapid and frequent delivery, such as just-in-time inventory and e-commerce shipments.
