An agreement that establishes the framework for international air travel regulations.
What does Bermuda Agreement entail?
he Bermuda Agreement is an aviation agreement between the United States and the United Kingdom that was signed in 1946. The agreement is named after the location where it was signed, Bermuda, which was chosen as a neutral location for the negotiations.
The Bermuda Agreement established the framework for commercial air travel between the United States and the United Kingdom. The agreement allowed airlines from both countries to operate scheduled services between the two countries and also provided for the negotiation of fares and routes.
One of the key provisions of the Bermuda Agreement was the principle of “fair competition” between airlines. This meant that airlines were free to compete with each other on price and service, but they were also required to operate in a way that did not harm the interests of other airlines or consumers.
