Who is a carrier?
A carrier refers to a company or a person who is entitled and legally allowed to transport the goods using different modes of transportation (air, land, or ocean). They usually work with the shippers to deliver the products from the starting point to the end point.
The carriers can be classified into two types: common and contract carriers. The common carrier can transfer products for any company or a person under the license given to them by the regulatory bodies. On the other hand, the contract carriers only transport products for a specified company or a person, bound by a long-term contract.
