Jurisdiction and Authority

Jurisdiction refers to the geographical area or legal domain in which a particular set of laws and regulations hold sway. In the context of logistics, it can encompass various levels, including local, state, national, or international jurisdictions. Each of these jurisdictions can impose specific rules and requirements that affect the transportation, storage, and distribution of goods. 

Authority, on the other hand, pertains to the entities or organizations that possess the legal power to enforce regulations and make decisions within a given jurisdiction. In logistics, authorities can include government agencies, such as customs authorities, transportation departments, and regulatory bodies overseeing safety and environmental standards.
