What is Weight Load Factor?

The weight load factor in shipping refers to the amount of cargo weight carried on a ship compared to its total capacity. A ship’s weight load factor can affect its fuel efficiency, stability, and safety. Carriers may adjust their rates or refuse to take on additional cargo if the weight load factor exceeds a certain threshold.
